In one such section, the author builds the case about thinking power stating that thinking power is more important than intelligence and further talks about putting good use of thinking capability to get ahead.

The book does fair amount of justice to touch on various softer and harder aspects in equal proportions. The book has sections to discuss about creative solution thinking, making your attitude your allies, managing work environment, getting into the action habit, thinking right towards people and finally about developing the leadership habits. This book is very helpful and full of advice, so I am writing my essay about it.

In the words of Dr. David Schwartz,

“ Remind yourself once again that you are not pulled to high levels of success. Rather, you are lifted there by those working beside and below you.”

My personal favourite section from the book is- Think right towards people.

Some of the best nuggets of information I have found from the book:
  1. Learn to remember names.
  2. Be a comfortable person so that there is no strain in being with you.
  3. Study yourself to get the ‘scratchy’ elements out of your personality, even those of which may be unconscious.
  4. Sincerely attempt to heal every misunderstanding that you’ve had or now have.
  5. Practice liking people until you learn to do so genuinely
  6. Introduce yourself to other person at every opportunity.
  7. Don’t be a reformer: ‘live and let live’. You have the right to your opinion, but sometimes it is better to keep it to yourself.
Like every self-help publish, MOTB is an easy and interesting read. Yet the book provides descriptive examples and rich records from the lives of amazing people from different walks of life. The book was first published in 1959 and that shows in the given examples that lay stress on sales bonuses and production levels among the rest others. Readers will easily catch that difference in writing style especially in the figures used to showcase the progress done by the think big individuals. Overall this is a useful book to put near your bedside for a quick daily reading. One cannot expect to cover the length in one go and become an overnight big thinker. The book requires reader to retrospect along and put some lessons to test.
